Nathan Katz Fund

Greetings! I hope that you are well. I just want to thank you for your support of the Program in the Study of Spirituality at FIU. As you may know, we held an event on May 1st for the celebration of the work of Dr. Nathan Katz. Pictures from that event can be found here: http:/spirituality.fiu.edunews/2014/may1celebration/.

We also announced during that event the launch of the Nathan Katz Fund for the Program in the Study of Spirituality. You can donate to that fund in honor of Dr. Katz 15 years of dedication to the Program here: http:/spirituality.fiu.edusupport-the-program/. All funds will go to support the future of the program.

As the new Director of the Program, I hope that I can count on your continuing support as we enter a new era in the life of the Program. Of course, as an organization that is fully funded through donations, we always need monetary support. But, I also want to hear from you: your ideas about what types of events you would like to see in the future and about how the Program can meet the needs of the larger community of South Florida.

As you browse through the list of remaining events we are having during 2014-2015, I hope that you will find at least one thing you really want to attend. We will have events on: Pagan Spirituality, Environmental Spirituality, Ritual and Dance, Near Death Experiences, and Religion and Violence (just to name a few). It is shaping up to be a wonderful year and I look forward to seeing you at some of our events.

Until then, do be in touch and all the best in your own journey!

Sincerely,

Whitney A. Bauman Director, Program in the Study of Spirituality Associate Professor of Religious Studies Florida International University 305-348-3348 http:/spirituality.fiu.edu
